Sesame Ginger Green Beans Print Email

1 pound green beans
2 TBS sesame seeds, toasted
1 1/2 TBS sugar
1 TBS Mirin
2 tsp. fresh grated ginger

Cut stem ends from green beans. Bring 4-quart pot of water to a boil and drop in beans. Cook until bright green and just tender. Drain.

In a bowl combine toasted sesame seeds, sugar, mirin and ginger. In a serving bowl, combine the beans with the sesame mixture and mix thoroughly. Great with seafood, pork or chicken dishes.

Note: To toast sesame seeds, place in a dry skillet over medium heat. Toast and shake pan until the seeds brown lightly.
