The Ultimate Grilled Ham and Cheese Print Email

1 ciabatta roll, focaccia roll, or 2 slices of sourdough bread
1 tsp berry preserves, fig preserves, or chutney
4 paper thin slices Jamon Serrano or Prosciutto di Parma
1-2 oz grated or sliced Rofumo, Fontina or Manchengo cheese
2 TBS Lars’ Crispy Onions
1-2 tsp butter or olive oil (optional)

Preheat panini grill, frying pan or broiler.

If using rolls, split in half. Brush the inside of the bread with preserves, layer with ham, cheese and crispy fried onions and make a sandwich.

Brush or spread olive oil or butter on the outside of the bread (optional) and toast in a panini grill, frying pan or under the broiler (under the broiler works best if you do not butter or oil the bread) to toast the bread and melt the cheese.
