Tony's Smoky Marinated Brisket
Unwrap brisket and transfer with marinade to a roasting pan. Add water to 1/2 inch deep, cover and place in a 300-degree oven for 3-4 hours - testing to desired level of tenderness. During roasting, add water to pan if needed - do not let pan cook dry!
Remove brisket and chill, discarding liquid. When ready to serve, trim away thin layer of fat (if desired) and slice thinly across the grain. Pour BBQ sauce in a casserole pan, top with a shingled layer of brisket slices, another layer of sauce, brisket slices, etc. finishing with sauce. Warm in oven or microwave and serve.
