Tropcal Ahi Poke Print Email

1 pound fresh ahi tuna* fillet, 1/2 inch cubes
2 tsp. sesame oil
3 TBS shoyu or soy sauce
1 tsp. fresh garlic, minced
1-2 fresh chili peppers or togarashi
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 cup mango, cubed
1/2 cup red bell pepper, 1/2 inch cubes
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
2 TBS lemon juice
sea salt to taste

Combine all ingredients, except ahi, in a bowl and mix well. Add ahi to mixture and marinate at least one hour before serving. Garnish with chopped cilantro. Sam Choy, The Choy of Seafood

Notes: Any firm-fleshed sashimi-grade fish can be used in this recipe, or a combination.
