Tony's Beer & Brat Burger
4 Tony's Beer & Brat Burgers one onion, or sauerkraut (rinsed and drained) four thick slices of Gruyere, Appenzel, or Emmental cheese Mustard (coarse French Mustard suggested) 4 large burger buns garlic butter
Thaw burgers (if needed) and preheat grill.
Slice ends off onion and discard, slice onion into four rounds, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Brush with olive oil, salt and pepper and place on medium part of grill (not too hot), cooking slowly until browned on one side. Carefully turn over and at about that time, place burgers on hottest part of grill (brush or mist with oil first) cooking to 155 degrees internal (about 10 minutes). Place slices of cheese on second side and close lid to melt cheese.
Brush buns with melted garlic butter (available at Tony's or make your own) and toast lightly on grill during last few minutes of cooking. Bring everything in from grill when done.
Place burgers on buns, topping with grilled onion and mustard as desired. Serve immediately. - Chef Mick, Tony's |
